چکیده
Indonesian people had long used plants as traditional medicine. In addition to maintaining health, medicine was in great demand and prevents disease. We often encounter syzygium polyanthum leaves a complement tamarind pepes, which were believed act preservative. This study aimed determine qualitatively bay leaf extract an antimicrobial, Salmonella typhi. Methanol extraction of polyantum would be partitioned with hexane ethyl acetate solvents. The anti-microbial potential shown the Maximum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) test, identification compound using GC-MS its antibacterial by docking molecule silico technique against 5L3J protein. MIC results that partition at 100 ppm 22.09 mm inhibition 80 ppm, 18.15 inhibition. GC-MS’ testing resulted polianthum showed presence alpha-pinene, alpha-cubenene, 1H-Cyclopropa [a] naphthalene, nerolidol, humulene epoxide II, phytol, 9,12,15-Octadecatrien-1-ol, Squalene, Alpha-tocopherol, Beta-sitosterol, azulene, valence, Azulene beta-Panasinen. However, lowest binding affinity value obtained from cytosterol −9.45 kcal/mol Valencene solutions −6.93 n-hexane solvent. While positive control-Chloramphenicol −36.93 kcal/mol. means could alternative for typhoid.

Antihyperglycemic Effect of Methanol Extract of Syzygium polyanthum (Wight.) Leaf in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats †
Syzygium polyanthum (S. polyanthum), a plant belonging to Myrtaceae, is widely used in Indonesian and Malaysian cuisines. Diabetic patients in Indonesia also commonly use it as a traditional medicine. Hence, this study was conducted to investigate the antihyperglycemic effect of the methanol extract (ME) of S. polyanthum leaf and its possible mechanisms of action. To test for hypoglycemic activ...
متن کاملAutonomic Nervous System Mediates the Hypotensive Effects of Aqueous and Residual Methanolic Extracts of Syzygium polyanthum (Wight) Walp. var. polyanthum Leaves in Anaesthetized Rats
Syzygium polyanthum (Wight) Walp. var. polyanthum leaves are consumed as a traditional Malay treatment of hypertension. This study investigates hypotensive potential of aqueous (AESP) and residual methanolic (met-AESP) extracts of S. polyanthum leaves and possible involvement of autonomic receptors. AESP and met-AESP (20 to 100 mg/kg) were intravenously administered into anaesthetized Wistar-Ky...

The aim of this study was to determine antibacterial activity of S. polyanthum L. (salam) leaves extract foodborne pathogens. All the foodborne pathogens were inhibited after treating with extract in disk diffusion test with range 6.67 ± 0.58-9.67 ± 0.58 mm of inhibition zone. The range of MIC values was between 0.63 and 1.25 mg/mL whereas MBC values were in the range 0.63 mg/mL to 2.50 mg/mL. ...
